The first week of play in the OHA has come and gone, see how your team stacks up below!

The Pretenders:

Adopt A Greyhound, Toronto Nationals 

A great first week saw the Greyhound’s skyrocket to the first spot but based on strength of schedule and overall play they will likely be far lower in week two. If you want to be a winner, you have to act like it, and so far the Greyhounds have done little to cement their top-of-the-table status aside from egoing teams that are more proven then themselves. They have a solid team, but it’ll take more than just one good week in three seasons to actually be considered a contender, sorry but they are as fake as they come and there is no chance this team is good enough to be a top seed let alone win the cup. 

The Nationals are a sheep in wolves clothing, I’ve used this saying before (Cancel) and I was right...I’ll be right again. They have a mediocre roster built on the backs of a few good players, I have my doubts they’ll even make the playoffs, sorry but they’re a pretender. 

The Contenders:

Red Deer, Blueberry Faygo, The Curse

All three teams have great rosters and experience with varying degrees of success. Red Deer always seems to be a strong team who comes up just short but this season they look poised to take control and finally win the championship. Blueberry Faygo are another strong team who could seemingly win it all this season, they have a very solid back line helmed by strong goaltending and if they put it all together...watch out. 

The Curse Reborn and their various iterations are the best franchise in OHA history, they have the highest win percentage and have won three of the last four cups, simply put they are still the best team in the league. Although they aren’t ranked in the top spot and fairly so, they’ll likely be there by the end of next week, no big surprise there. When the OHA seasons ends and it’s all said and done, the Curse will likely be lifting the cup.

The rest of the league is a picture of parity with teams such as Bleacher Bums, Forfeit Kings, Fait Accompli, and Evil Empire (who could surprise) all close in standings and overall play. The only teams that seem lost are Goon Squad, Sunnyvale, and Chicago and they will all need a strong week two to move up the board.

Goon squad had a strong week this past week dumb dumb. Just look at the leader boards we running shit in penalty minutes and most hits what we joined the league to do !!!! Hench the name "goon squad"..smh🤦😎
